Exercise gear is something we can never have enough of, as there’s nothing like a new workout wardrobe to pump us up for a fitness session. However, much of what we wear and use in the gym is made of plastic or other non-recyclable materials. For those of us who are self-proclaimed ecowarriors, it’s great that so many sports brands are beginning to use recycled materials and ocean waste to keep our bodies snug while we’re on the move. Here are our top four eco-friendly fitness finds:

1. Yogamatters Organic Cotton Yoga Blanket

Yogamatters has sourced its own organic cotton from spinning mills and certified by Global Organic Textile Standards, making this new collection the earth-conscious choice for yogis. £25,

2. Speedo H2O Active Swimsuit

This full-body swimsuit doubles up as workout gear, as does everything in the H2O Active collection. All products in this range are made from 100 percent generated waste nylon and are able to be used in or out of the water. £45.50,

3. Shakti Shanti Leafy Leggings

Shakti Shanti use the highest quality natural fibres, which are eco-friendly and feel luxurious against the skin. Its styles, fabrics and prints are unique and can be traced right back to the hands that made them. These leggings are made from 90 percent durable and supportive cotton. £55,

4. Fjallraven Re-Kånken Recycled Rucksack

This special edition Kånken backpack is made entirely from polyester, which has been recycled from plastic bottles. It makes the perfect gym bag or hiking accessory, and the best part is it can be recycled again. £80,
