Find your inner zen with a little help from our favourite motivational guru

If you want to strengthen your core, sleep better or simply de-stress everyday, I urge you to put on your favourite tune, lie down flat on the floor and just breathe. Breathe away all the stress and tiredness. Oxygen is the most important nutrient for our bodies and minds and getting the right amount can seriously effect our moods.

  • Lie down flat on the floor with your legs stretched out.

  • Put one hand on your belly and one on your chest.

  • Inhale deeply and notice your stomach expanding and rising.

  • Exhale as your stomach deflates letting it fall towards your spine.

Continue to do this for a few minutes and then check in with yourself throughout the day to make sure you haven’t reverted to shallow breathing in the chest. You will be surprised by just how much improving your breathing can elevate your energy levels and mood.
